What You’ll Learn
Virtualisation Infrastructure [Module 1]
This will include installing new versions of Windows Server into an existing infrastructure.
You will also learn how to:
- Plan and automate deployment of system and application software
- Plan and implement a server-based virtualisation environment
- Configure and implement storage solutions
- Configure and implement virtualised high-availability solutions, including redundant services and Network Load Balancing.
Directory Services [Module 2]
You will learn how to:
- Maintain a directory service in a complex environment (including multiple sites or multiple domains).
- Configure centralised management of directory services devices and users.
- Control and configure directory-enabled computers
- Configure and maintain a PKI infrastructure including installing and configuring Certificate Authority authorities and managing digital certificates.
- Provide a single sign-on portal for inter-organisational networks
- Secure documents using certificates
Network Infrastructure [Module 3]
Also covered is how to:
- Install & configure, and maintain DNS and DHCP services
- Install and configure Windows Server based client remote access solutions.
- Install and configure Windows Server based solutions to support remote sites including site to site VPN, branchcache, and distributed network services.
- Install and configure solutions for the management of network Infrastructure.
- Select and Configure appropriate IPv6 to IPv4 technologies
- Be able to support a Software Defined Networking solution.
Business Messaging Infrastructure [Module 4]
- A message mail server
- A business collaboration server, together with a backend database system.

Q: "What is the entry criteria for this programme?"
All applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Applicants must have at least a level 5 qualification in Information Technology or similar qualification.
All applicants will be required to complete an enrolment form and may be interviewed in person or via telephone or skype to evaluate their suitability for the programme.
Applicants who have English as a second language must have an International English Language Test System (IELTS) score of 6.0 with no individual band score lower than 5.5 in a single test event (or equivalent).

The content of the programme consists of eight modules that include: How to implement a range of technologies for systems & network services, automated system and application software deployment, data storage, server based virtualisation infrastructure, how to analyse organisational requirements, implement a solution and administer infrastructure for remote network access, applying project management tools and techniques to an IT related project, and IT service management and change management processes.
