No Fees - Youth Courses

To be eligible for funding you need to be aged 15 (with an early leaving exemption, or ELX) or between 16 – 24 at the time of commencing study, and must not have completed higher level qualifications. Priority is given to learners who are new to tertiary study, and to existing students wishing to progress onto a higher level course.

Once eligibility has been established, students are selected by interview. Selection is based on a number of things including age, how suitable the course is for the student’s goals, attitude to learning, ability to function in an adult environment and fit in with existing groups, as well as committing to attending, course achievement and a pathway to employment or further education.

Creative Tech – NCEA Level 2

Our Creative Tech course is designed to help you start building your creative portfolio by giving you the confidence to work with creative software to generate, refine, and publish your ideas using digital media.

Building and Construction – NCEA Level 2

Gain construction skills while working towards your NCEA Level 2. Our construction course is ideal for anyone who loves working with wood, building and using tools. This course is a great pathway into a building apprenticeship.

Workplace Skills – NCEA Level 2

Gain practical skills for reception, customer service or business admin roles while working towards your NZ Cert Level 2. Learn the professional standards and practical skills that will help you to understand how workplace offices and receptions function.

Automotive Trades – NCEA Level 2

Gain automotive mechanic skills while working towards your NCEA Level 2. If you want to know how things work, and are passionate about fixing cars and keeping them running, our Auto Trades Programme is ideal for you. Learn practical skills and use industry standard tools.

Cookery – NCEA Level 2

Gain cooking and service skills while working towards your NCEA Level 2. Learn the essential cooking and service skills that you’ll need to work in a commercial cooking environment.

CareerFit Sport & Fitness – NCEA Level 2

Energise your learning and super-charge your employment prospects while working towards your NCEA Level 2. Set yourself up for jobs that have an aspect of physical fitness such as the Health & Fitness Industry, Emergency Services, Defense Forces, etc.

Careers Unlimited – NCEA Level 1
