Tēnā koutou katoa,

Following the Government’s announcement of a shift to Alert Level 2, we are pleased to be preparing for a safe new normal. Our team will be returning to our premises in the coming days and if you are an existing member of the EmployNZ whānau, you can expect contact from us!

EmployNZ staff will return to our sites on Monday 18 May. If you are planning to come in and see us, we kindly ask that you ring ahead and book an appointment with one of our team. This will help us safely manage the number of people in the building, and we may even be able to help over the phone, saving you the trip.

Our education and pre employment training delivery will commence from Wednesday 20 May. Programmes will have staggered start dates and times to maximise safety at this time. Your tutor will provide you with more detailed information about your programme when they get in touch with you.

Youth Service can continue to support you by phone, online, or by appointment where necessary.

Each person entering our premises will need to follow these public health guidelines:

  • Sign in and out, for contact tracing purposes
  • Keep physical distancing of one metre
  • Practice great hygiene e.g. regular hand washing; cough and sneeze etiquette

Also if you are unwell, please stay at home. We’re adapting our mahi and will share with you how we will all be able to actively protect the health of the people in our workplace. In situations where it is easier and safer to work with you online or over the phone, we can continue to do so.

Finally, we send our warmest wishes to you. These are unusual times and many people may be feeling anxious, worried, itching to get back to normal, or dreading it! Your wellbeing is a priority now more than ever and it’s important to reach out if your feelings are overwhelming you.

If you have any questions, concerns, or are in need of support please make contact with your tutor or coach, we’d love to hear from you. You can call us on 0800 002 159, submit an enquiry through our website, or chat with us on our Facebook page.

We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Ngā manaakitanga,

The EmployNZ team
